Tell us a little about yourself (e.g. interests, occupation, life story, struggles and/or successes)
My name is Lou Falank. My interests tend to vary depending on seasons and when I feel like trying something new. Overall cooking, eating, friends and family time is tops. I have worked in the outdoor education and education field since 2001. In 2013 my wonderful wife encouraged me to start my own business, Mountain Bear Programs and Guide Service. I enjoy seeing and hearing participants stories connecting to nature, gaining skills in self growth, and community via the order of survival. But most of this took a back seat to the hardest and most rewarding career a I could have ever asked for, being a stay at home Dad.
How and When did you first discover CrossFit?
I have been participating at Crossfit 207 for 9 months this December. How did I hear about Crossfit? My neighbor and my wife, Carolyne hasn’t stopped talking about it since her first drop in class almost 2 years ago.
How has CrossFit helped you?
Crossfit has helped me regain my power, strength, and discipline. I feel Crossfit is becoming a huge step in getting me back to running another marathon soon!
What is your favorite thing about the gym/CrossFit?
I enjoy the 207 Community. It’s not just looking up and seeing folks power through workouts. It is watching how folks are constantly working their weakest skills and not afraid to show the low points and grinding it out.
